In developmentFinanceFreeHomwe, Shona for pocket, is a ledger and budget app for Zimbabwe's informal traders and anyone budgeting their own money. It records sales, expenses and income, keeps a book of who owes you, tracks stock and budgets, and makes invoices, receipts and quotes. It is free, works offline, has no login and no ads, and your book never leaves your phone.
Money in Zimbabwe sits in more than one currency and more than one place: notes in hand, EcoCash, a bank card. Homwe keeps each wallet in the currency it holds, US dollars and ZiG by default, and shows totals for each currency side by side. Nothing is converted or added together, so the figures match the money you actually have.
Every entry answers two questions, which wallet and what for, and starts with the amount. Record a sale or an expense in a few taps and Homwe tells you what changed. The debt book reminds you when money is due and sends a statement over WhatsApp, and the Tools tab holds Zimbabwe calculators that work offline.

What is Homwe?
A ledger and budget app for Zimbabwe's informal traders and anyone budgeting their own money. It keeps your sales, expenses, debts, stock and budgets in the currency each one happened in.
Do I need an account or internet?
No. Homwe has no login and needs no network. Your book is kept in an encrypted database on your phone, and you can back it up to your own storage with a passphrase.
Does Homwe convert between USD and ZiG?
No. Every amount stays in its wallet's currency, and totals are shown for each currency side by side, never merged into one number.
Which calculators does it include?
PAYE, ZESA units, mobile-money charges, vehicle import duty and loan cost, plus a directory of USSD codes. They all work offline and never change your book.
